Focused eyes,

bow in hand

glides across strings,

the universe responds...

celestial wonder ensues;

we sit transfixed.

THE EXPRESSIONISTS

OUR SOCIETY

The Expressionists Spoken Word Poetry Society was founded by Larry Knight in 2009 at Stanton College Preparatory School in Jacksonville, Florida; it was created with the hopes of inspiring talented, young writers and performers to share their voices.

In the two years since its inception the society has garnered attention and praise from the Stanton community. Its future goals include providing students with a forum and a collective to experience and promote self-expression through the power of spoken word poetry.

Anyone may join the society and all students are welcome to attend the Monday meetings.

One prerequisite for joining is to embrace (and promote) the society's official mantra: writing is only the first step.
